Okay, that doesn’t make sense, these are just a series of contradictions! But wait, it only seems so. Upon further investigation, we see another side of the same coin.

A dear minister friend of mine said one time in a teaching about counseling others, “More than one thing can be true at the same time.” I love that. It should seem obvious to us that several things can be true at the same time. But logic has a way of only dealing with truth one fact at a time. But our reality as human beings on this earthly globe is not always that simplistic.

More than one thing can be true at the same time. Yes, God is all-knowing and all-powerful, but He ALSO has created both angels and humans as beings with free-will. It may be a contradiction, but it is more accurately a paradox – and in this context, a true relationship is allowed to exist with both sides having the choice to be in relationship, or not.

God has already shown in every imaginable way(and some unimaginable ways) that he has chosen to desire close, intimate relationship with people. He has shown us this by his sending Christ to die on the cross. He has shown this by pouring out His spirit. He has shown this in many ways, through ministries and ministers, through creation, through whispers in the ears of any person who desires to listen. He loves us! He desires to know us deeply and intimately. He desires to fill us with His Holy Spirit. He desires to fill us so much that we become channels of His love to others. All we have to do is ask, knock, seek, obey.

In that sense, He is present-tense here waiting for you to seek him, desire him, love him, be filled by Him RIGHT NOW!

Today is the day of salvation! Today is the day to hear his voice! Today is the day you must obey! Today, God waits for you to take a deeper step into the river of His Spirit.

But if you do not, then he will not.

He says if we seek him with all our heart, we will find him. And thats the whole point – if we wait for God to not only do his part, but our part as well – are we not really saying “God, take away my free-will, and just do it regardless?”

Well, he won’t do that. If He were to do that, you wouldn’t be free – you would be a robot.

So the real question is, who are you waiting for?

Which is it?

I am now of the opinion that Revival IS HERE! It is not an “it.” It (Revival) is a “He”! Jesus is Revival! The Holy Spirit is Revival! Now there is a truth that would shed some light on this issue – God, the Holy Spirit.

Revival, as overly defined, is simply the sovereign move of God upon his people in mighty, fresh, powerful ways. Revival brings the gifts of the spirit in operation, along with a very real sense of the actual presence of God!

Now some people forget, but the Holy Spirit is God – He is part of the Trinity! He is the actual palpable presence of God bringing the ministry of Christ to the earth!

So, Revival is simply the work of the Holy Spirit whenever he feels pleased to manifest!

How do we get the Holy Spirit to manifest himself? He is easily grieved. He is able to sense when people truly desire God. He comes when invited. He leads when listened to. He speaks when Christians take the time to open their spiritual ears. And this Holy Spirit lives within YOU!!!

Revival is here, because Revival CAPITAL R is inside of you!

However, that is not enough! No! No it is not!

Some Christians erroneously believe they do not need others. Just them and God. Theoretically, that is true. But also, Jesus said “Where two or three are gathered together, there I am”. Also, we have the letters of Paul in the New Testament and the book of Acts and the Gospel of John that all explain that the true body of Christ is where he will manifest his power and love “They will know that you are mine, if you have love for each other” People will note notice we love one another if we are not often together!

How could they see the love, hear about the love, want the love, be envious of the love we have for one another if we never actually are together!

I don’t buy it. I think when people say that, they are covering lots of baggage and pain. Why else would people want to be isolated from other Christians.

But in unity and corporate prayer, we seem to be able to access the Holy Spirit and all His workings in mighty ways!

So, Revival is in you, Revival is here if you are here. And yet, accessing that Revival within you takes the ministry of the body together seeking the Lord as the disciples sought the Lord up to the day of Pentecost that first day of the Outpouring of God’s Spirit.

The Rochester Assembly Nights of Prayer will be continuing each month. We believe this will be a catalyst to more and more prayer in our church. We encourage everyone to be praying for the upcoming event in September that focuses on Porn and Sex Addiction and Recovery. This event is for everyone – EVERYONE SHOULD TRY TO BE THERE! If you are struggling personally – BE THERE! If you know ANYONE who is struggling – BE THERE! If you want to help those who are struggling – BE THERE!

Please pray for the leaders of the conference and especially Cindy and Darin Finch – pray that in all ways they are protected, encouraged and strengthened and pray ABUNDANT BLESSINGS over them!

Pray for people to come – they need to come to the conference.

Perhaps this one addiction is the cause of more prayerlessness than any other distraction!

I hope this can be a place of encouragement and inspiration as we move forward with our vision of a 24 7 Prayer Ministry here at our church!

PRAYER NIGHTS – currently we are having a NIGHT OF PRAYER monthly on Sunday nights. This will be an ongoing thing from now on until we feel directed otherwise. We have had great times of prayer together and many have been filled and healed by and with the Holy Spirit and we look forward to more. We feel this is also kind of a time of unified prayer for everyone in the church who desires to be part of what God is doing in our midst regarding prayer. We are trying to schedule these NIGHTS OF PRAYER every 3rd Sunday of the month (Small groups that meet on Sunday nights are on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month).

SEEK HIM – that is what we talked about last Sunday Night and what we feel God is saying for us this next year – that it is to be a year of SEEKING HIM like we have never sought Him before. We encourage everyone to pray and fast regularly. (for some, maybe one meal a week, others might even fast one day a week). We also encourage everyone to pray daily (for some, 15 minutes a day, for others, an hour a day) so the most important thing is improvement and baby steps.
